I w...</title><content type='html'>I am a RN and left the field for good in 1999. I would never return to hospital nursing. I think you gave her some good advice, and I would go further and advise her to do some volunteer work in a hospital or even get a part time job as an aide--just so she can get an idea of what its like to work as a nurse. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;That said, her nursing degree can help her get jobs outside the hospital, and I would suggest she do some research on alternative opportunities for nurses. Although, I do have to ask--why is she not pursuing music therapy? She can move away from special needs children and into a more medical environment with that.
